Be the Change no. 19

"Everyone chooses their level of involvement. We might share the same place BUT that does not mean we share the same space. Not everyone in the congregation is Christian."

Be the Change.

Let me tell you. A two minute plank, thirty push-ups, and thirty crunches are not as easy a step up as I was thinking. BUT I am still committed to making these permanent changes to my morning routine. The fifty jumping-jacks, however, were a breeze to add as well as the additional tens I added in other parts of my routine. Sometimes I get frustrated with my current state of fitness, both mentally and physically.

I get setbacks and obstacles. I find ways to derail my own progress. BUT I get to choose if those are permanent conditions or temporary problems. I am looking at everything as a temporary problem right now. A few years ago I would have been back off this lifestyle change and into a rut of being unhealthy. It is amazing how much a little fourteen days can change your perspective if you allow it.

I truly have very little to say today. I did a lot of struggling with myself this weekend and struggling with a tree. I bare the scars from both situations and I am in a better mental space today because of those struggles. I think a corner has been turned in my path and that things are starting to make more sense. Unlike some of my colleagues, I am never leaving the space of education. I am not looking to be an administrator, a bureaucrat, or leave and get a base job as part of the military-industrial complex. I am always going to teach. As a guru, I know of nothing more suited for my life’s work.

So, I am going to keep laying down lessons. And I hope you care enough to listen and learn along with me in this journey of change. Have the day you want.

I got tired of looking for places to place blame and others to fix my problems. I hope you find some of what you're looking for here as well.
