Personal Meditation No. 93
“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”
Embrace the Within.
The only thing stopping you from being the better you is yourself. The excuses are going to exist no matter when and what is going on in your life. The choice is yours to use the excuses or ignore the excuses.
You can put off starting as long as you want or you can get started immediately. You can get started right now. You can decide if you’re serious about the change or you’re just a tourist.
You can talk about getting your life together or you can get your life together. The key component in all of these scenarios is you.
I could still be hanging out with Libertarians talking about change. I could be angry about the government. I could be angry about how easily people are influenced. I could be out there calling people names and forcing my opinions into them. But I chose to make the change where it was most important. I chose to make the change in me and not in systems of control or others. The only way I can make a change is by changing myself.
And the same is true for you as well. The most difficult change is the most important. And that change is taking an inventory of where you are and comparing that inventory to where you want to be. For some of us that inventory is getting close to being identical and for some of us it’s miles down the road. But the key is being honest about what you want and where you are. Lying to yourself, and you and I do that a lot, is not going to help the process.
So, try being honest with yourself? Be honest about what you want. If you don’t want change then don’t get yourself worried about not working on it. Life is too difficult and short to worry about things you’re not going to do. Be honest about where you are. Be honest about the steps you can realistically take to get to what you want.
A little honesty about yourself will do you a world of good.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
