Personal Meditation No. 73
“Only you can bring yourself peace.”
Embrace the Within.
Did problems arise yesterday that weren’t my fault? Of course they did. But there are always things happening around us that are beyond our control. You just have to focus on what you can control and choose to make the choices that bring peace.
Reacting angrily or frustrated and storming around the building yesterday would not have increased the speed of resolution of my problems. Instead, I used the time to walk and take steps. This gave me the opportunity to do something and break the monotony of just waiting in place.
There is nothing I dislike more than waiting in lines. So any chance I get to not be part of a line, I will take. This can mean adding time to the resolution of my problems and letting others go before me. But not waiting in a line helps my mental health more than waiting in once ever can.
Understanding these things about ourselves helps us regulate what we do. It helps us regulate our own peace. Because if we’re not giving ourselves peace, then there is very little chance we’re going to find it anywhere else.
So, today, I’m going to keep working on peace. I’m going to work on peace in what I say and what I do. I’m going to attempt being positive about working in groups. I’m going to attempt to find peace in the activities I engage in today. I’m going to attempt to say things and do things that bring me peace. I encourage you to attempt to find your peace today as well..
I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
