Personal Meditation No. 71
"Being the loudest voice, the most popular voice, the most stubborn voice, doesn't make you the most accurate voice, the most correct voice, the true voice."
Embrace the Within.
Public opinion, polls, surveys, trends, fads, and elections seem important but are they really? We can make them important only if we choose to treat these things as truth. And I have come to realize, as I hope you have come to realize as well, if you believe in something enough then it becomes the truth.
I accidentally walked into about two minutes of what is regarded as news these days and noticed that it was the same program I had watched about fourteen days ago. The same ideas just recirculated, rehashed, repainted, and rebroadcast. No original thought. No depth. No understanding.
News today is just a bunch of numbers and information thrown at you with the solution given. It isn’t something you have to think about. And it is yelled loudly, consistently, and stubbornly at you.
We are not cognitively set up to be bombarded with this much data, this much tragedy. Human life isn’t made for processing the overload of emotion bombarded and weaponized at us daily.
When you turn that switch and choose peace, life does simplify. It doesn’t simplify to having two world views that want to fight and win . . . It simplifies to one world view where we all can win.
The loudest people, the popular people, and the stubborn people are only as important to your life as you allow. They don’t have any power you don’t give them.
Sure. They have the false power of a system at the moment. But systems don’t last forever. And their power is just as transitory. You don’t have to be loud or popular or stubborn. You can be great by being accurate, correct, and honest. Folks want to trust. Give them the reason.
I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
