Personal Meditation No. 62
“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”
Embrace the Within.
I’ve been noticing a lot more mystical and spiritual posts coming across my timeline lately. Maybe I’m just starting to notice them or they’re a new occurrence. Regardless, it is wonderful to see so many folks looking beyond the physical world and moving to a greater understanding of purpose. You should never overlook the spiritual nature of your journey.
I do want to send out the warning though that your beliefs aren’t what you post or say, those things are merely words. Our words are just wind and our actions are what we truly believe because they are thought put into action.
I have spent a lot of time working to getting to a place where I live my words. I was so frustrated with the hypocrisy I was seeing at an early age among religious folks that I kept moving around from religion to religion to find people that truly lived what they believed. And I never found it. I never found it because groups are populated with a lot of folks just looking for a place to belong rather than a way to live. They want to be part of the group so they adopt their rituals, their sayings, their external appearances, but they don’t put belief into action.
So, eventually I had to honestly figure out what I believed. Rather than looking externally at already established religions and groups, I had to look inside me to see what I truly believed. Then, it was a simple process of putting that belief into action.
I finally figured out that I believe in freedom and self ownership. So, I began working on a return to the days when folks grew their own food and took care of themselves. I started cultivating the skills I would need and buying the materials to make that belief a reality. And slowly, I began to focus on my belief and stopped worrying about the groups I learned were full of talkers and not doers.
In the freedom movement, there are a lot of people that like to talk. They like to read books on theories of living and talk about those theories. But very few folks want to implement those theories with action. They don’t want to do much more than complain and move air. So, I allowed them to their spectacle of nothing.
But, you will find all around that most people don’t want to do the actual work. Regardless of whatever they think or feel, they find it hard to put belief into action. They like to talk about the work, imagine the work, and dream about a day when the work will be done. But, somebody has to put in the work. And, as Christian Cage’s new slogan reads, I am going to Out Work Everyone when it comes to getting free.
So those of you that are getting in touch with your spiritual side, I applaud you. You’ve taken a larger look at the world around you. A look at more than the things we can already see. A look at the things that matter to you. A look at belief. Just please make it become action as well.
What do you think? What drives you? What makes you? What do your actions show that you believe? I think we have a lot of room in this world for a lot more belief and a lot less wind.
I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
