Personal Meditation No. 47

“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”

Embrace the Within.

Alright. Now this is what I’m talking about. Starting the day off with a winning mindset and not just sleep-walking into the day. I got up and got back into the routine of working out my body and my mind. So, sit tap-tap-taparooing in the morning and not struggling to feel accomplished and throwing something together twelve hours later.

Life is a struggle and sometimes you win at the struggle and sometimes the struggle wins. Regardless, the struggle is going to be present. You just have to determine if you’re going to be present, past, or future. If you’re present, then you can work on the struggle in front of you. If you’re past then you’re still working on the struggles behind you. If you’re future you’re worried about struggles that haven’t occurred or may never occur.

So, I’m picking being present and working on the present. This doesn’t mean I disregard the past or the future, the past has lessons and stories to direct my present and the future will someday be my present so the choices I make impact that future. But, I am not going to burden myself with the struggles that came before or the struggles that lie in wait. Here and now is enough to embrace and grapple.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks. It’s been a rough little struggle acclimating to summer. But, I am going to focus on moving forward in the present and not the rough patches I’ve already persevered and overcome. Life is going to always be a struggle. But once you control how you’re going to view that struggle and confront the day, then the rest really doesn’t matter.

Let’s work on leaving the past and the future struggles for those times and focus on the present? I’m going to be as present as I can today. I hope the same for you.

I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.

I got tired of looking for places to place blame and others to fix my problems. I hope you find some of what you're looking for here as well.
