Personal Meditation No. 42

"Folks will obsess over things they can't control and ignore the things they can control."

Embrace the WIthin.

I hope you know that you can’t change systems. Systems are kind of impervious to change. So, having an opinion about a system is great and natural. Systems lend themselves to criticism. But basing your identity off of accepting or refusing a system is a dangerous mental space. Especially being in the negative system space. It is exhausting be against something. Being for something is far more beneficial to your health.

Once upon a time, I was anti-government. I would rail about how government makes everything worse for everyone. I would berate people and hammer them with my opinions on the problems with the duopoly and the system. Did that change the system? More importantly, did that help me?

Of course not. What helped me was switching from being against the system to being for my own thing. That thing was cutting down my supply chain. Prices of everything right now are out of control because of the way our system is functioning right now. And I don’t want to be reliant on that system to provide for me. So, I’m moving toward sustainability. It’s a process that began with controlling some of my food sources and keeps expanding.

Whenever I can choose not to participate in other systems, I voluntarily choose to opt out. When I am forced to participate in other systems I do so as little as possible. You have got to choose your level of involvement with systems and be comfortable with yourself. Because ultimately it is your body, your mind, your life, your choice. Do whatever works for you. Control what you can control and let the rest to the systems.

And if you’re working out new systems like me, then let the world know. We haven’t peaked yet. We’re just rehashing the same systems right now. But we need to try a lot more. So, I hope you have some good ideas for something new.

I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
