Personal Meditation No. 41
"Folks will obsess over things they can't control and ignore the things they can control."
Embrace the WIthin.
My news feed is mainly like yours. There are a few folks out there embracing their life and making better choices about their health, freedom, and liberty. I have close friends and family that are out there planting seeds, harvesting crops, and changing their diets. And they are doing these things physically, mentally, and spiritually. They are discovering their truth and sharing it with the world daily. They are taking control, they are owning, they are working.
But, like you, most of my timeline is about things people can’t control. And a lot of that thought is just the regurgitated thought of someone else pasted across their timelines. Not original thought. Not an insight into their unique humanity. Just conformity. Even conformity in being a nonconformist. Dough that is cut and hardening in the cookie-cutter shape chosen.
Most people are not like you or I. They don’t want to take ownership of their lives because that ownership comes with the responsibility of being in charge of your life. And most people, unfortunately, are not in a place where they can make those decisions. They are worn out. They eat unhealthy foods, consume unhealthy media, and are bombarded by large amounts of influence. They need a short cut because thinking is hard work. It’s even more difficult when your body, your mind, and your life are unhealthy.
When I first started this journey I thought having the best ideas was enough. But having good thoughts comes from a healthy body as well. You can’t feed your body garbage and expect one organ to not be affected like all the others. Total health is a physical, mental, and spiritual process. And you have got to get the physical under control first.
So, when I first started this I realized how physically unfit I was. When I first started a regular routine of exercise, my body was ill prepared for how little fitness it had. And taking control of that one aspect made all the difference. I refer to my daily routine as my winning mindset. I wake up and take my pills, complete my physical exercise, and complete this mental exercise of pounding out some thoughts each day. And, at this point, I have already accomplished a win.
That mental attitude of starting out with small victories and making them into bigger victories is working out so far. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t without pain, it wasn’t without doubt, however, it was and is a choice I control every day.
Are some times better? Are some days easier? Are some days difficult? Are some days impossible? Of course. But every day is another chance at starting with small victories.
Find your small victory today? Take control of your life?
I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
