Personal Meditation no. 210
“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”
Embrace the Within.
I figured that after the past fourteen days folks would know better than to get wound up about the media coverage of anything BUT a lot of folks returned to their normal outrage programming. I am not going to join you there. I cannot go back to that emotionally exhausting way of living. Too much work has gone into getting where I am today for me to go back to caring about what the news cycle teams put together.
I am also not going to get baited into arguments about your obsessions with the news. I am going to agree or disagree and go on my way. I am not going to get pulled into lengthy arguments or discussions about your opinions or my opinions. I have been in too many of those pointless conversations thinking I was going to help folks understand anything. I think I am going to stick to analogy and metaphor and go about my day.
As I said, I have put in too much work to go back to the rut I used to call normal. Yesterday I not only drank a gallon of water BUT I far surpassed that part of hydration. I look forward to getting there again today. I broke the mark for this month’s push ups yesterday and I am going forward with more today. I am going to play the first game of volleyball in years today. I finished the book of Deuteronomy yesterday. I am moving forward with my health. So, going back to the days of politics and division and news are not for me anymore.
I am going to keep getting healthy. I am going to keep reading and listening and learning. I am going to keep focused on what I can control. I am going to work on me and my land. I am going to keep planting the seeds and see what happens. Some of those seeds may never grow. And some of them are approaching time for harvest. You never can tell what you’ll get from a seed.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
