Personal Meditation No. 20
“It may not be your fault but it is still your problem.”
Embrace the Within.
Most of us are looking for a scapegoat. We don’t want to take responsibility for all the problems that we cause ourselves.
So, if something is wrong in the world, then that wrong is always the fault of someone else. This helps us rationalize our inaction because people act emotionally and then justify their actions rationally and being a victim is a lot easier than being the hero.
A lot of us think we’re rational but we’re only fooling ourselves. Some of us like to think our heroes are rational. That’s not the case either. We need to embrace the emotions that run our lives. We need to accept those emotions as part of us and move forward. Understanding those emotional motivations can help us make better decisions, never completely rational decisions, but better decisions.
So take the time today to look at what emotions are driving you. What do you need to work on fixing? What do you need to work on filling? What do you need to work on reconciling? What problems do you need to fix? What hole do you need to fill?
You are the only one working on you but you’re all you need.
I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.
