Personal Meditation no. 197
“Don’t be a donut. Fill your hole.”
Embrace the Within.
It’s been a long fourteen days. And some of us took the opportunity that those miserable days provided and built back better. And most of us fell back into the same or worse routines. The mental, physical, and spiritual health of many of us are a lot worse now than it was fourteen day ago. There are many folks leaving their jobs of service to others and moving into service of themselves. There are many folks that are done with society and done with helping and have just chosen to walk away.
I am not going anywhere. There is nothing this world can throw at me that I can’t handle with God on my side. Nothing. If you are walking away from helping then you really need to look at your initial motives like I spoke about yesterday. Were you even in it for others or was it all about you? Was it about the pat on the back? Was it about the recognition? Was it about the pay? Was it about the temporal?
You can try to fill your hole with all sorts of things. You can fill that hole with all differing earthly delights. You can fill that hole with all sorts of temporal choices. BUT there is only one thing to make you no longer a donut. There is only one thing that fits in your hole. You have a God-shaped hole that needs to be filled. And you can keep putting all different size and shape and color and type of temporal distraction, temporal diversion, temporal desire into that hole BUT it is never going to fill it.
You can try all you want BUT nothing is going to just quite fit. So, if you think that walking away from one thing and walking across the street to something else is going to fill you, the best of luck. If you think changing jobs is going to fill you, then best of luck. If you think finding someone new is going to fill you, then best of luck. If you think finding a new hobby is going to fill you, then best of luck. If you think a new prescription is going to fill you, then best of luck. There is only way you’re getting that hole filled. And try all you like, nothing is going to provide permanent fulfillment, nothing is going to make you whole, nothing is going to make you feel better mentally, physically, and spiritually until you fill that hole eternally.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
