Personal Meditation no. 177
“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”
Embrace the Within.
I am constantly learning new things, listening to new ideas, and revising my journey. I read and listen to things that I are not in agreement with my beliefs. I read and listen to things that contradict my beliefs. I read and listen to things that challenge my beliefs. I read and listen to things that make me question the beliefs of others. I do this not to tear down the beliefs of others as I once did. I do this not to make fun of the beliefs of others as I once did. I do this mainly because seeing and hearing the beliefs of others and not being dismissive and judgmental is something I need to work about fixing. So, I am doing this to change me, to work on me, to make me better than I was yesterday.
And I think that’s how my journey is going to go. I remember a few years ago saying that I wasn’t going to learn another thing about chickens and gardening. I thought I had hit my limits of learning anything new. I was exhausted from learning new things about growing my own food. BUT, here I am still learning new things and working on the old things. I think sometimes the amount of new stuff to learn can be daunting. It can wear you out and shut you down.
The great thing is that we are resilient. We can hit a wall and stop for a breather. We can take some time to unplug and self care. We can take time to get ourselves stable and happy. And then we can get right back out there and keep learning new things, keep expanding our skills, keep working on change, and keep traveling our journey.
Life is meant to be lived abundantly and joyfully. And I get no joy or abundance out of clinging to the same me. I get joy and abundance out of making my life better, making my environment better, making my self better, and making my journey better.
This weekend looks like as good a time as any to start planting seeds and getting things ready for the spring and summer. I have a lot of new plants going in the greenhouses and a lot of changes to the structure of the plantation. A lot of changes coming over the next five months or so that will hopefully solidify the foundation of what I see as the future of my outside space. It’s been a long fourteen days that has taken over three years of trial and error to move into this space. And it was a lot more failure than success. BUT, I keep working because it is a journey.
I hope your journey is moving forward as well. Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
