Personal Meditation no. 172
"Start worrying about yourself. If you don't invest in your own life, then why would anyone else choose to invest in your life either."
Did not get any good sleep last night. The alarm is never responsible for waking me on a consistent basis BUT today it did. It was such a strange thing that I had to think about what the sound was echoing around the bedroom. I know half the struggle is that my wife keeps the television on all night and the background noise last night was a lot of politics in the form of late night “comedy” and news broadcasts. Just something in my brain will not let me ignore that stupidity. It just seeps into my subconscious and makes me pay attention. I am always asleep before and up before her so the television spouts whatever channel she last tuned.
On the bright side, I did spend some time in between bits of sleep to plan out the changes to the irrigation system. So, I am going to lay out the pieces tonight and get those inventoried in order to see what I need to pick up Saturday morning. Looking on the bright side of just a morning where, in spite of getting in my workout, I feel a little bit worn out. I did manage to get most of my routine knocked out to this point to maximize my routine this Friday. I am going to make the most of this Friday even though it did not begin as the Friday I wanted with the alarm waking me, it will end with me in the garden working on solving the problems I choose to solve.
Maybe the day did not start the way I wanted. Maybe I planned to feel better than I do. BUT maybe I can change my attitude about the day and that will change my day? I am going to embrace that opportunity.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
