Personal Meditation No. 17

“It may not be your fault but it is still your problem.”

Embrace the Within.

Being reliable and competent puts you in responsibility for many problems that are not your fault. The world is brimming with unreliable and incompetent people. People that would be dead if they lived anywhere outside of America. Folks that are amazingly bad at living.

So, be grateful for being competent and reliable. Be grateful for the shouldering of the problems that many cause but few solve. Be grateful for the ability to work on problems that are not your fault.

I think it’s only human to feel burdened by the weight of others but it is far better to be grateful for the burden. Being burdened by these weights shows your greater character. If you are asked to do very little then others must see you in that same light. If you are asked to do much, then be grateful others see that you can handle that weight.

I know it grows tiring to be the one that fixes the problems. So surrounding yourself with the others that fix the problems and not the ones that cause the problems is important. Find your peers that are also out there fixing problems because they understand, they struggle, they grow weary as well. Worry about supporting those that are reliable and competent and let the others go without your judgment or disdain. The world is full of “meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly” people as Aurelius said. But you know the truth.

So you need to act like you know the truth. Live the truth? Be grateful for being reliable? Be grateful for being competent? Be grateful for being you? I hope you find whatever you’re looking for. Have the day you want.

I got tired of looking for places to place blame and others to fix my problems. I hope you find some of what you're looking for here as well.
