Personal Meditation No. 167

“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”

Embrace the Within.

I really don’t know where today’s post is going to lead. I am starting to feel like I don’t fit anywhere on social media or in America. Some moments I get called a right-winger repeating talking points and other moments I am a liberal snowflake that is caught up in my feelings. So there is that which leaves me without a landing pad on the two-sides, and only two-sides, that exist in America today on every topic.

It just makes me tired and lonely most of the time. It is great that I have my within to embrace because that’s about it anymore. Keeping true to what I really am and not what the world has decided to paint as the only two options out there. I am a farmer and gardener. Buying seeds and taking care of my livestock. Planning for bigger expansions of my shortened supply chain. I am a fella that is taking his health seriously for the first time in his life. Drinking water and eating more plants while eliminating alcohol, sugar, processed foods, and red meat. Waking up every morning and working out both physically and mentally. Posting this post and working on getting the courage to add more YouTube videos. And waiting on spring.

This seasonal funk of winter is really tough this year. I so want to be outside working on gardening BUT it is really difficult when there isn’t much you can really do. It’s cold and there is no life outside of the greenhouse work. And that is my goal this week. To get some of those seeds I have been stockpiling and amassing into some dirt and let’s see what happens.

So, even when you have a plan and destination, there are things that can still beat upon you from outside. Those things hammer on me because my friends fall into the two camps, the people that I see every day fall into two camps, and I just want to not be forced into either camp.

Neither place is where I want to be. Neither place is right for me. Neither place speaks to me. I don’t know about how things are shaping out in America. I don’t want to think that I’m going to have to have less human interaction outside my home BUT it is looking like more and more the only correct option for me.

Being open to discussions and thinking I can talk to people on social media anymore is a losing cause. So, I’m going to stick with what I know and stick to my circle of control. This blog and the journey I am on are my concerns. And you can have your two-sides to every topic. You have dug your trenches and are ready to die in the fields for these ideas. I finally have a clearer idea of living . . . So, I’d rather live in the garden than die in the fields.

Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.

I got tired of looking for places to place blame and others to fix my problems. I hope you find some of what you're looking for here as well.
