Personal Meditation No. 132
“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”
Embrace the Within
These fourteen days are quite exhausting. I can only imagine how exhausting it is for those folks that daily choose to bombard themselves with all the background noise of politics and media. I am simply exhausted watching the spectacle from outside. I choose not to fall into the games, the manipulation, the influence, the violence, the anger. That is not where I want to be.
And things get even more exhausting when there is limited daylight to get things accomplished outside. There is just never enough daylight this time of year to get everything done before the darkness slips over and takes away the motivation to achieve. So, I get the idea of being exhausted. I eat well and exercise and take vitamins and still get worn down just from the darkness of things outside my control.
I do have a plan every day to get as much done with my daylight as possible. And that involves using it to get as much done as I possibly can before the darkness comes. For some of us, the darkness is all around. The choice to embrace the daylight or let the darkness overtake you is one you have to make daily.
I could choose to lay back in bed this morning because I was tired. I could choose to not exercise because I was tired. I could choose to not type this morning because I was tired. I could choose to not take care of my chickens because it gets dark. I could choose to not water my plants because it gets dark. Hell, there are a multitude of excuses out there if you want one. You have to make the decision about what you’re going to choose.
These aren’t easy decisions when you’re exhausted. When you’re worn down by the noise and the darkness, choices get difficult. I will never tell you they are easy. I can tell you that they can get easier and simpler when you get into the routine and habit of making the better choice. The choices never get easier to make because the excuses are there always BUT the personal responsibility and self ownership you have will determine the path you will take.
So, get in a routine of being better and living a more abundant life today? Start making better choices about what you consume? Start making better choices about what influences you? Start making better choices about what gets your attention? And maybe, just maybe, you’ll start to see the change.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
