Personal Meditation No. 129
“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”
Embrace the Within
There are a lot of delusions out there and inside us that aren’t doing us any good. I suffered from those delusions just as you have. Maybe you’re still under a lot of those delusions. There is a lot to unpack and unlearn after decades of living on this planet.
The one illusion or delusion that no longer afflicts me is the delusion that anything I am doing is going to impact anyone else other than me. I don’t get up and type this blog in order to change anyone. I don’t think that this blog is going to gain me popularity and fame. I type every morning because I am committed to writing down my thoughts and putting them into a meaningful form for me. This helps me work out where I am and where I am going.
If this tap-tap-tap-a-rooing is beneficial to you as well, then that is a bonus and I thank you for following along. BUT I am not here to change anyone. I am glad and feel genuine pride in others going through and working through their own journey. The Road of Trials is not easy and getting to that Ultimate Boon takes a long time. I surely know I am not there yet. I can see it on the horizon and there is a lot of work to do to get there.
Slaying those illusions and delusions is one of the things that I will have to conquer in order to get to that Boon. So, maybe I am getting ahead of myself in sharing the journey before it is completed, however, I don’t think the journey is ever fully complete. I think we undertake several Hero’s journeys in our lives if we’re lucky. Each adding another Boon to our list that we can return with and share to our neighbors, our community.
Getting there is not a rush. There is no hurry in getting to the Boon. It is the journey that makes us ready to receive that Boon. Without the journey, the knowledge isn’t learned. So if you’re on the Road of Trials today and you feel like things are just too difficult. If you feel like the change is not worth the pain, if you feel like just giving up, know that the Boon is worth it. The gains are worth it. The journey is worth the destination. I can testify to that for you. It may suck for awhile. You may have to just embrace that suck for a little bit longer BUT you will break through to the other side. You can do it because I could do it and I was no different than you on that road.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
