“Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.”
Matthew 5:9 AMP
When I walk aligned with God and the Word of Jesus, then the Spirit will lead me to the calm places in life. The calm places of body and mind and spirit are the places where God can show His Way. I should be trying to bring that peace not only to my life BUT also to the lives of others I meet. Peace is the alternative to a hectic and self-absorbed life rushing to jam as much into a day as possible. Peace is the prescription God expertly crafts to remedy what ails me. “How joyful you are when you make peace! For then you will be recognized as a true child of God [See Pss. 72:3–7; 122:8–9; Isa. 26:12].”
Matthew 5:9 TPT
When I allow the gift of God’s peace to occur in the lives of others, I feel the joy of obedience to God. As an Ambassador of His Kingdom, I am bringing the message of God to the world through showing and sharing His peace.
“Then the mountains of influence will be fruitful,
and from your righteousness
prosperity and peace will flow to all the people.
May the poor and humble have an advocate with the king.
May he consider the children of the poor
and crush the cruel oppressor.
The sun and moon will stop shining
before your devoted lovers will stop worshiping;
for ages upon ages the people will love and adore you!
Your favor will fall like rain upon our surrendered lives, [Or “like rain on mown grass”]
like showers reviving the earth.
In the days of his reign the righteous will spring forth
with the abundance of peace and prosperity forevermore.”
Psalms 72:3-7 TPT
As a devoted lover of God in accordance with His commandment to love Him, I am bringing peace that flows from Him to the world. His peace is not concerned with how oppressed or poor we are. His peace falls on our surrendered lives and will not only revive us BUT it will revive the world. To be part of His Kingdom and under His reign, I will overflow with peace to all that I meet.
“I intercede for the sake of my family and friends
who dwell there, that they may all live in peace.
For the sake of your house, Yahweh our God,
I will seek the welfare and prosperity of Jerusalem.”
Psalms 122: 8-9 TPT
I am bringing peace to my family and my friends. I am not looking to argue over the distractions of the world. I am to bring God’s peace to them. I love God and I love my neighbor and I love my enemy. So, I must bring peace to those closest to me as well. What good is my testimony if I am at war with my family and friends? I should work to live and show God’s peace to them. Oftentimes this will mean sacrificing my ego and my will for the Way of the Lord. So I pray that You step forward in those times. “Lord, You will establish peace for us,
Since You have also performed for us all that we have done.”
Isaiah 26:12 AMP
God will establish peace. Peace is not something I can do without Him. If I trust God and obey God, then I have to rely on Him to do the things I cannot. There is a vast laundry list of things that I cannot control in life. BUT the list of things I can control is very brief. I need to focus on working on those things and leave God’s business to Him. I don’t get to be the god of my life, God does.
“Blessed are the peace makers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
Matthew 5:9 GNV
I want to be a child of God. And in order to be His child, I have to be obedient. I have to follow His rules. He owns the house and He gets to make the rules. In fact He created all the houses and all the parts of the houses and the people and animals in the houses and everything about the house. So, He gets to make the rules. I don’t. And if I am going to live in His house, then I am going to need to follow His rules. “Blessed (Favored by God; happy; prosperous) are those who pursue peace, for they shall be called sons of Elohim (The Many Powered) [The Living Word of God].”
Matthew 5:9 NMV
Peace should be something I chase. I should pursue peace in all aspects of my life to show the presence of God in my life. I need to walk in peace. I need to talk in peace. I need to act in peace. '“How blessed are those who make peace! for they will be called sons of God.'
Mattityahu (Mat) 5:9 CJB
I pray that I get to be called a son of God by acting in obedience to His Will. I get to choose whether I obey God or if I make my own way. And every day, every moment, I get the beauty to choose to be His son.
I love you. I forgive you. Have a blessed and abundant day!
