Personal Meditation No. 136
“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”
Embrace the Within
If you really care about something, then you will do something about that thing you care about. That statement seems to make sense. If you wanted something to happen, then you would do everything within your power to make that thing happen. You would be a doer and not a talker.
I think sometimes we get too caught up in talking about the things we care about and spend less time doing something about the things we care about. We can tumble down rabbit holes of thinking and talking with folks about those things and then, next thing you know, it is ours later and you have nothing to show for all that talk and thought but time wasted.
I am not about wasting time. We only have a finite amount of time and I have wasted plenty of that time on things that were not helpful. I have wasted my time talking and thinking rather than planning and doing.
Sure, there is a time for conversation and study. Those things get a mind and body ready to act. BUT if we never act on that conversation and study, then that time was wasted. So, I became a doer. I see a problem and I go about fixing that problem. And there are times when I have to tell myself, “You can’t fix that problem right now” and that is an alright thing to also know. Understanding when the problem can wait because it is not the ultimate priority is important.
BUT most folks are waiting their entire lives. They are busy talking about change, talking about caring, talking about living, and they never get around to the doing. I see folks constantly posting about the things that they care about, the things they want to change, how they want their life to be better . . . BUT most folks stop there. When I see a doer, I stop and congratulate them. Because there are fewer doers in this world, fewer folks of action, fewer problem-solvers, than there are waiters. Sitting around waiting for their life to begin when it’s already over. A life without deeds, a life without actions, is a life of wind. It is insubstantial, it is empty, it is full of sound and fury BUT accomplishes, signifies, achieves nothing.
So, just like I chose to get up today and get out there and make some change. Just like I woke up this morning and sat down here to put my thoughts into form. Just like I am going to get up and go act on those plans to achieve my goals. You can get up and become a doer of deeds as well. Your reward will be a life of abundance.
Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
