Miles Lehrman Meditation No. 1

"A perpetrator is not the most dangerous enemy. The most dangerous part is the bystander because neutrality always helps the killer."

Courage is choosing to change.

The first step in not being neutral occurs with our own lives. Most of us are bystanders in our own lives.

Over a year ago when the lockdowns began, I decided to make a change. The change started with going out to the garden and planting a few seeds. The change grew from there into the gentleman farming operation I am running today.

The change started with focusing on what I could change. How would I keep the perpetrators away from myself? How would I keep the perpetrators away from my family?

I chose not to be neutral in this life anymore. And that choice started over a year ago but the change is not stopping. Change is not sedentary.

Although my goal is sustainability, that goal does not mean I am inactive, that goal does not mean I am waiting, that goal does not mean I am neutral. Sustainability takes action.

Planting seeds is an important first step but the change does not stop there. You have to pay attention to your garden.
