Control Your Narrative no. 2

“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”

Control Your Narrative.

So, now you have a plan and plans are great. Make the plan easy. Make the plan actionable. Make the plan achievable. And, most importantly, be ready for your plan to fail.

We learn a lot from both success and failure. It is just that success feels much better than failure. And, let’s face it, none of us make the best choices all the time. And none of us have the best plans all the time. So, we are going to fail at times.

The important thing about failing is not letting that failure define you. Examine your plan. Maybe your plan is too grand and elaborate at the moment. Maybe you need to refine and narrow your plan at the moment to make it actionable and achievable. Maybe you need a whole new plan. BUT, do not let the failure define you.

Failure is a natural part of change. If you aren’t making changes then life is rather comfortable and easy. Making mistakes comes with the territory. As I outlined when I first started this change fourteen days ago, I failed miserably. My plants were eaten by rabbits. I could barely make it through a morning workout routine without a break. I was a mess BUT I had a plan and a goal.

So, I went to reworking the plan. I fenced in my plantation. I added more garden boxes. I planted more things. I changed my workout routine to something I could manage. I steadily added more as I got healthier. It’s a process that you can easily derail by giving up and going back to the easy. Your brain will want the easy. Your brain is used to the easy.

So, you have to want it more than your brain. You have to tell your brain to shut the fuck up and take control. You have to grab control of your life and start working on the change even when you fail. And if I can do it, then so can you. You just need to talk to yourself in a positive way and keep that brain of yours in your place because it is just another organ. And you get to shape where it goes, not it. Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
