“I’ve learned that there is nothing perfect
in this imperfect world except your words,
for they bring such fantastic freedom into my life!”
Psalms 119:96 TPT
I have seen that all [human] perfection has its limits [no matter how grand and perfect and noble];
Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits [into eternity]. Psalms 119:96 AMP
I can get really bogged down with all that is required of me in this world as a son, a friend, a husband, a father, a teacher, a gentleman farmer, and any other number of roles I assume as I walk this earth. And I have to take a step back and remember that I am an imperfect person trying to work a perfect path. The closer I work on walking that path leads to more freedom and abundance in my life BUT I can’t get bogged down when I fail. I am failing because I am trying.
And I think sometimes I am my worst critic. I can be so much more harsh about my own judgment of my life than others. And I see people beating themselves up and worrying about their imperfections and feeling like they aren’t winning just because they have failures in their lives.
We all fail. The difference is dedicating your life to getting better. Whether that getting better is at being a son, a friend, a husband, a father, a teacher, a farmer, or anything else, that should be our goal. Our goal is to strive for that ideal even though we can fail, even though we need to get back up and try again, even though we are not perfect. This is not an excuse for my failing or your failing, it is just an unfortunate truth of being human. We are flawed and we fail BUT that should not keep us from doing the work.
Keep failing up. Work on getting better despite and in spite of the obstacles, the trials, the problems, and the pain. Strive to be better than you were yesterday. That is my prayer daily. A prayer to be better than the man I was the previous day.
Peace to your home. Bless your being. The reign of God is now. Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
