“It’s not all in your mind but if you don’t control your mind, then the rest doesn’t matter.”

Embrace the Within.

A lot of my battles, a lot of your battles, are lost before they even begin. And that happens because we simply psyche ourselves out of winning and convince ourselves we’re losing. And there are a lot of reasons we can have for acting and thinking that way. And every reason is our own fault. I choose, you choose, our mindset.

We hear a lot of people talking about how they mirror the energy other people give. That the way you treat me determines the way I treat you. That it’s their fault that I acted that way. And that is an enslaved mindset. That is a mindset that takes away your personal responsibility. That is a mindset based on external controls for your personal choices. That is a mindset that points fingers rather than taking accountability.

Every bad decision, every good decision, every triumph, every failure, every win, every loss, everything about me and you is our choice. If you want to spend your time blaming others, going around life like a victim, and pointing out all the problems then you’re not going to have a shortage of company. There is a majority of folks that don’t want to own their lives, their minds, or their souls. It is much easier to blame. It is much easier to be a victim. It is much easier to be controlled.

BUT, you don’t have to live that way. You can start to make the small choices. And own them. And the more you get into the habit of making the better choices, the small choices, then the more you will get into the practice of feeling alright about bigger choices and bigger victories. You have to start programming yourself for success because no one else is going to run that program for you.

The world is filled with folks ready to take advantage of your victim mindset. They’re waiting to placate you. They’re waiting to agree that it isn’t your fault. That life has been unfair to you. That the other folks are out to get you and take away your power while along you are giving away your power. You have it inside you. You just need to embrace that power. Embrace what is within you.

It may not all be in your mind BUT you can already lose the battle before they begin just because you’re not in control of your mind. Get that body healthy. Get that mind healthy. Take yourself back? Make yourself great again?

Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.

“Your beliefs are your actions. What you say is just what you think.”

Embrace the Within.

I am in a diverse amount of groups on social media because I have a diverse amount of interests and always want to learn new things. I find the vast difference in what people focus to be enchanting and attractive. That so many folks can find so many different things to motivate them is reassuring. These people give me the hope that there are more folks out there looking, learning, and listening than I would guess at first glance. Groups are what we do as social creatures. We tribe up with those that share our beliefs and values.

Now there are negative things that can come out of groups as well BUT I like to overlook them as problems with individuals. Problems with self ownership and self control. Just like mobs can get folks all worked up, religion can get folks all worked up, patriotism can get folks all worked up, any group of people is predisposed to group-thinking. That is just how group dynamics work. It is up to each individual to be aware of group dynamics and be an individual inside the group.

You can blame the group for how you act BUT then you’re admitting you lack self control. And that’s great to acknowledge BUT that is then something you need to work toward fixing. I think we do really well at identifying our faults. We see people broadcast their problems all day long in living color or in video rants or in print on social media. Identifying our problems is never a problem. Working on those problems is.

I think a lot of folks are determined they were born being who they are and that’s where it ends. They believe they were born knowing how to walk and talk and drive a car. Folks don’t like to think that those things take education. That you have to learn those things. That you have the potential for those things but you have to make your mind figure out how to do those things. A lot of that misunderstanding is social. Folks tend to think all the learning in life comes from schooling. Folks want schools to start schooling in this and that pet project of their choosing. They want schooling to replace education. They want schooling to supplant education. BUT education happens everywhere. Education happens anytime. Education happens despite you. Sometimes we just don’t learn the lessons until much later. Most of us are stubborn. We are set in our ways, set on our path, stuck in a rut.

BUT we don’t have to be set or stuck. We can keep learning. We can learn right here. We can learn over there. We can in our car. We can learn in our job. We can learn outside. We can learn from our friends. We can learn at the gym. We can learn anytime, anywhere. We just have to be open to the lessons.

It’s easy to recognize your faults BUT we take very little time to celebrate our potential. I think we should celebrate that more. We should focus on the change. We should focus on the victories. We should focus on growing as a person. I will stop learning, stop growing, stop working on myself when I die, until then I have the job of becoming a better human. I hope you are clocking in to that job too.

Have the day you want. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for.
