“Don’t deceive yourselves by only hearing what the Word says, but do it! For whoever hears the Word but doesn’t do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror, who looks at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah , which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does” (Ya'akov (Jas) 1:22-25). Being an Ambassador of His Kingdom is a job with no days off. Kingdom work doesn’t give me time off to be off point. I have to strive to continually be on point with Him. It isn’t something I do on weekends. It isn’t something I believe in my mind. It isn’t something that I prayed once. It isn’t something I learned when I was a kid. It is every day.
He is a king and this is His Kingdom. Kings require allegiance. Everything I have is because my king allows me to have those things. My ability to serve the king is my allegiance to Him shows that I trust in Him. How am I to show that I am part of His Kingdom? Just thinking about how great a king He is or by living like He is ruling? It’s easy to believe in a god that asks that I only believe in his stories. It is another thing to live a life in service to a God that is your king. When Jesus came to earth to fulfill the role of Messiah, folks were ready to give Him the earthly throne in Jerusalem. BUT when His Kingdom is not of this world, it’s easy to forget that He is still King and He is still enthroned.
His Kingdom is here and now if He is my King here and now. If He is my King later, or just some thought, then I am going to have a different way of living that does very little for His Kingdom here and now. BUT that is the story of Jesus coming to earth to bring us a glimpse of heaven here and now. And as his Ambassador, I need to be working on that Kingdom here and now. So, let’s get out there and bring His Kingdom now?
Grace and Shalom to your home. The Kingdom of God is now!
I love you. I forgive you. Have a blessed and abundant day!
