“Listen, all Y’hudah, you who live in Yerushalayim and King Y’hoshafat: here is what Adonai is saying to you: ‘Don’t be afraid or distressed by this great horde; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, go down against them. They will be coming up by the ascent of Tzitz, and you will find them at the end of the vadi , before the Yeru’el Desert. You won’t even need to fight this battle! Just take your positions, Y’hudah and Yerushalayim, stand still, and watch how Adonai will deliver you! Don’t be afraid or distressed; tomorrow, go out against them; for Adonai is with you’”(Divrei-HamYamim Bet (2 Ch) 20:15-17). The battle is God’s. We are constantly fighting spiritual warfare and mistakenly choosing our own strength to fight those battles. When I fight, I will lose BUT when I allow God to give me His strength, I can be assured of victory.
Falling into my own strength, my own authority, and my own power is a path to my own destruction. I have a King that fights for me, within me, and has conquered sin and death. So why am I fighting anything on my own? Because I think I know better. Because the person on the throne isn’t God BUT me. “Therefore, since we have received an unshakeable Kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may offer service that will please God, with reverence and fear. For indeed, ‘Our God is a consuming fire!'” (Messianic Jews (Heb) 12:28-29). I have not only a king BUT the King to serve. And I don’t serve Him by enthroning my own strength, authority, and power. I serve Him by listening to what He says and where He leads.
All sin is idolatry. It is taking God off the throne in my life and putting something else there rather than having a right relationship with Him. If I want a right relationship with Him, He has to be in charge. He has the only power, He has the only strength, and He has the only authority that matters. I can try to place other things on that throne. I can try to put other masters in charge of my life. BUT only He will give me freedom. Only He will give me victory.
“You don’t even need to fight this battle! Just take your positions and watch how Adonai will deliver you!”
Grace and Shalom to your home. The Kingdom of God is now!
I love you. I forgive you. Have a blessed and abundant day!
