“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34 AMP

One day at a time. One moment at a time. One encounter at a time. Slow down. No need to rush. No need to hurry. No need to worry. This moment is quite enough on which to focus.

Whenever I feel myself getting pushed into a state of panic and worry and hurry, I need to slow myself and my life down. Nothing leads to more mistakes than feeling like time is against me.

Piling on the fear and worry of tomorrow is added pressure I do not need. I need to take each day, each moment, each encounter on its own merits and let God move me to walk in His Way through the encounter.

Christ does not need me to be worried about tomorrow. He paid the Way for my hope. The Father provided the mercy and grace and love for me to have faith in His Will. Again this all simplifies into me doing what I need to do and allowing God to do what He always does. And that requires me to trust and to believe in Him.

Why am I worried if I trust God? What can I do to better show that I trust Him? How can I get rid of the worry I have for the future? How can I remove the doubt I have in my heart?

I pray that today the doubt and fear of the future is no longer my concern. I leave that concern in the more than capable hands of God for my own good. I pray that I show His Way by living a life that truly puts Him in control. I pray that my obedience to the Way of the Lord reflects His path forward for me this side of eternity and beyond.

I love you. I forgive you. Have a blessed and abundant day!

“Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by worrying can add one hour [Lit. cubit, here probably applied metaphorically to a lifespan] to [the length of] his life? And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

Matthew 6:25-33 AMP

Why am I worrying? Why do I fear the future? If there is one thing that I can assuredly know is that nothing is going to work out the way I have planned BUT everything is going to work out according to God’s plan. Yet, I still worry about tomorrow. I still worry about trivial things. Sure, I still worry about important things BUT trivial things take up most of my worry and concern.

What am I to do to fix this problem? How am I going to change my life to reflect that I am following the Way of the Lord? How am I going to be an effective Ambassador of His Kingdom?

Well, first, I need to remember that God is enthroned. He knows what I need before I know I need it. I have to trust God to take care of His things. When I remember that simple truth of reality, then I can focus on His Kingdom. And I can take care of my things which are seeking His Kingdom and His Righteousness. If I can do those two simple things, then I can give God back control of my life. I can obediently follow without fear or doubt or concern or worry.

I pray that today I live a life free of worry. I pray that I give every concern, every doubt, every worry, over to the Lord. I pray that I seek His Kingdom and His Righteousness so that I can live a life that denies my self, takes up what He wants, and follows Him obeiently.

I love you. I forgive you. Have a blessed and abundant day!
