“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” ― Frank Herbert, Dune

Courage is choosing to change.

I really thought more of humanity. I know we haven’t evolved much since wandering the savanna but I really hoped for more. Some change.

But, fear is still the main governing force rather than hope around me. As social creatures we fear rebuke and removal from society. As egotistical creatures we fear being wrong and mocked. As self important creatures we fear not being the center of the universe.

We have a lot of fears to face to find ourselves. But, you can choose to get past those fears. You can choose to be truly free of those fears. You can choose to be free.

It’s your body, your mind, your choice.

Will you let the mind-killer be your master? Or will you be your own master?

Courage is choosing to change.

Embrace the Suck.

After spending a week of absolute destruction to my routine, this is day two of reclaiming that routine and, let me tell you, a week is long enough to make changing back suck.

So, today I made it through gradually more of my morning routine by completing my physical workout and moving back into my mental workout of tap-tap-taparooing at the keyboard.

I am definitely not drinking enough water again but, at least, my diet isn’t suffering. After a week of eating a lot of garbage, my salad soup is a needed return.

So, working on restoring the mental and physical health this week. Getting back into regularly completing the routine despite the suck. Because the suck only lasts so long. So, I’m going to embrace how bad it feels right now and know it’s my fault that it sucks.

But, soon the suck will evaporate and I will be back on the other side again. And that’s the goal .. . Working every day to put your life together despite the suck.

Are you willing to make the change?
